This piece titled “thoughtful” is a self-portrait of me in a thinking position. The media was an ink pen on a normal piece of paper. I think that some of the things that stand out are the word “thoughtful” which is surrounded by black but is fully visible, and my hair strands, I don’t know why, but I always focus on it. This piece wasn’t too hard, it just took a while because you’d run out of ink and you’d have to keep dipping the pen. I think the only thing that inspired the work was the word thoughtful that I found in the old book. I don’t think that this piece deals with any issues I just made it. I tried to show the emotions of calm and thoughtfulness. I think this piece helped me improve as an artist because I’m not very good at realistic pieces and I think I did a good job on this one.
